Day 17
Verse
“When you pray, don’t be like the hypocrites who love to pray publicly on street corners and in the synagogues where everyone can see them. I tell you the truth, that is all the reward they will ever get. But when you pray, go away by yourself, shut the door behind you, and pray to your Father in private. Then your Father, who sees everything, will reward you.” – Matthew 6:5-6 (NLT)
Thought
Oof, Jesus is keeping it real here. Our relationship with God shouldn’t be just about “showing off” for others to see. It’s about the quiet moments with Him, when no one’s watching. When it’s just you and God, that’s when we find our genuine connection with Him. Let’s make time for that secret, sacred space where God can move in our hearts.
Prayer
God, I want my relationship with You to be deep and private – where it’s just You and me, and I’m fully present. Help me make time to connect with You, even when no one else is around. In Jesus' name, Amen.
