Day 16

Verse
“But Jesus told him, ‘No! The Scriptures say, ‘People do not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’” – Matthew 4:4 (NLT)

Thought
I don’t know about you, but this is one of those verses that hits me right where it hurts (in a good way). Food keeps us physically alive, but Jesus is telling us we need more than that. We need His Word to thrive spiritually. Just like we eat every day, we should be feeding our hearts with God’s Word. It’s the spiritual food we absolutely can’t live without.

Prayer
God, I don’t want to go a single day without Your Word. Stir up a hunger in me for Your truth, and may I seek it just as eagerly as I seek my next meal. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
